Rattlepole! is a completely improvised Shakespearean comedy where no two performances are ever the same. Inspired by the themes, language and characters of the Bard, our 10-strong cast creates a brand-new play every night using suggestions from the audience.
With a live pianist improvising the score (and occasionally bursting into song), the show blends Shakespearean storytelling with fast-paced comedy and playful audience interaction. To heighten the chaos, the audience can also direct a drinking element for the cast—making each performance increasingly boisterous, unpredictable and joyfully out of control.
After sold-out performances and work-in-progress runs across London, and a hugely successful debut at Edinburgh Fringe last year with packed audiences and glowing feedback, Rattlepole! arrives at Camden Fringe as we build momentum for our return to Edinburgh this summer. Join us for a Shakespearean adventure full of mischief, romance, tragedy, and plenty of surprises.
