CUFFED
Ashley Byam
Staged reading of a vibrant new play about masculinity, first love, jealousy and the Black queer experience.
“I want you to live your best life, and I want to share it with you.”
How do you show and receive love when you have no guide as a Black man, let alone a Black gay roadman? Aidyn and Kairo are perfect together, they have something that works for them, and it's strong. But one night after a party tests the strength of their love and changes the course of their relationship , blurring the lines between reality and fantasy!
In his debut play, Ashley Byam explores what it means to have the perfect relationship and what we do when things start to go wrong; what parts of ourselves are we willing to sacrifice to make it right and attain the perfect "rom-com" ending?
