Aristophanes's comedy Women in Power invents a scenario where the women of Athens disguise themselves as men in order to vote in the Assembly and assume control of the government. Under the leadership of Praxagora, women institute reforms that ban private wealth and enforce sexual equity for the old and unattractive, waving goodbye to the capitalistic democracy and embracing a communistic one.
