We propose a major expansion and transformation of Theatro Technis, an independent theatre that has been a hub for new artists and audiences for the past 50 years. Located just ten minutes by foot from Kings Cross and Euston, it is in one of central London's most exciting new development zones.

 

The expanded theatre will increase our main seating capacity from 120 to 250, making it more financially robust and enabling us to host a wider spectrum of performances, developing new work and become a try-out for the West End and beyond. Our project will integrate the theatre within its community and environment, introducing diverse spaces for artistic and community use: a 90-seat cabaret and music venue in the basement, a studio theatre and rehearsal space and flexible community spaces for local residents. Our all-day bar and restaurant will also become a new central London destination.

 

Integral to our business case are eight serviced apartments for visiting performers, supporting long-term collaboration and exchange. These apartments will also be available for short and medium-term lets on the open market, providing a sustainable income to support the theatre's operations.

We invite you to name an apartment, securing your legacy and having your philanthropy recognised for generations. We can name the apartment in many creative ways, such as after your family name or someone who has recently passed away. Or we could agree to honour the memory of one of our founders or a creative pioneer that you are passionate about. All apartments will be individually designed to complement the chosen name, and you will have the opportunity to stay in the apartment for up to two weeks a year as our guest.

 

Your legacy gin will continue well beyond the initial contribution. The apartments will provide us with regular income, making us truly self-sufficient and ensuring lasting financial security for the charity and future generations.
