6 August 1926: Trudy Ederle becomes the first woman to cross the English Channel, breaking all records and defying a society that had denied women the right to swim. Her story is inextricably linked to the fight for women's rights — and one hundred years later, it comes to the stage.
Nuovo Orizzonte (New Horizon), written and performed by Alessandra Donati, weaves together spoken word, live video and archival footage curated by Leonardo Battaglia, and original music by Edoardo Bacchelli — a performance as unstoppable as the woman it celebrates.
Winner of Best Performance at the RTB Festival Acrobatiche Teatrali (Catania) and of the "In Scena con lo Sport" award at the Milano Fringe Festival, assigned by the Milano Cortina 2025 Winter Olympics Committee.
Nuovo Orizzonte will be performed exactly one hundred years to the day since Trudy Ederle first reached these shores.
