An Evening with Ricardo Curbelo
Ricardo Curbelo
A night of exceptional music and songs
Innovative musician, composer and poet, Ricardo Curbelo takes his audiences on a colourful journey through his work Matiz, which combines traditional music from a variety of Latin American countries with many of his own spellbinding compositions on Harp, Cuatro, Maracas and Vocals.
Vibrant, energetic and jazzy pieces together with more gentle, captivating melodies and romantic songs, create a very special variety of musical experiences on a wide landscape of emotions. The sound of his Modelo Corvado harp, which Ricardo designed and constructed himself, adds to the uniqueness of his performances, which continue to take audiences by surprise and earn him many enthusiastic compliments!
Already a successful young peforming artist and winner of international prizes for poetry in his native Colombia, Ricardo came to England in 1979 and since then has performed on a wide variety of stages in the UK and Ireland, both shared with other excellent musicians and as a solo artist. He is delighted to have been given the opportunity to bring his music to Theatro Technis once more, having been a friend of the theatre and its founder, George Eugeniou and his family for more than 40 years. His performance will include compositions from his albums, El Delfin del Orinoco (The Orinoco Dolphin), El Sueño Homo sapiens (The Homo sapiens Dream) and Espíritu LLanero / A Londres (LLanero Spirit / To London)
