Flag Raising & Memorial Plaque Unveiling — Aris Eugeniou

Raising of the flags of Cyprus and the European Union outside the theatre, followed by the unveiling of a memorial plaque in honour of the late Marula Eugeniou, Co-Founder of Theatro Technis.

Words will be given by her son, Aris Eugeniou.

This event will be covered by Hellenic TV, London Greek Radio and Parikiaki newspaper.


7:00 PM – Opening Evening

Commemorating the Anniversary of 1974

The evening opens with a speech from the Cyprus High Commission in the United Kingdom, launching a week of art and music commemorating the anniversary of the events of 1974.

Cast and Creative Team

Dr Georgios Nicolaou

Dr Georgios Nicolaou is a Greek Cypriot space plasma physicist based in the UK and a Lecturer at University College London’s Mullard Space Science Laboratory, where his research focuses on heliophysics, solar wind plasma and space instrumentation. Alongside his academic work, he is active as a musician and participates in selected cultural and performance projects in the UK and Cyprus. Together with Elena Hadjiafxendi, he co- created Space on Stage, an interdisciplinary collaboration exploring connections among music, performance, and scientific ways of understanding space, perception, and presence.

Lee Michaels

Lee started acting at a later stage in life before that she was successful business owner. She attended the The London Academy Drama School obtaining a LAMDA. She has worked in local theatre and appeared in various short films. Lee also worked on various Greek Tragedy productions at Theatro Technis with the late George Eugeniou and was involved in his very last play reading. George loved animals especially Lee's dog Duke who would always be at the rehearsals!

Panos Savvides

Panos Savvides is a professional actor. He studied at the International School of Acting and co-founded Woodlands Theatre Company. He produced “Kiss of the Spider Woman”, “Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay”. Panos is very closely associated with Mr George Evgeniou at Theatro Technis where they co-produced “The Inheritors”. Panos played the Wise Man in “Wealth” at Dugdale Centre (Dir. Manos Tsotras). Other stage productions include, “The Immigrants” at the Electra Theatre (Dir. Roberta Fox) and the “Phoenician Women” at the Theatro Technis where he played Oedipus (Dir. George Evgeniou). At The Cyprus Community Centre he played the Dedective in “Fonazi o Kleftis” Panos co-produced and starred in a short film “Sea Urchins” (Co-Producer/Dir. Lou Panteli). Panos, also co-starred in “Panos and Cascadia” (Dir. Rob Jelly). He has worked on many plays with Vasili Panayi. TV credits include The Bill, London’s Burning, Queen of the East starring Jennifer Saunders (BBC TV Dir. Robert Chapman). He also played Captain Stephanos in “Sea of Fire” (BBC TV, Dir. Robert Del Maestro) and featured in “Undercover Customs” (Dir. Robert Khodadad). Feature films include “The Phantom Warrior", “Hitmen" and “The Bezonians". Commercials include British Telecom, MTV promo, Duyvis Pastrelli-Amsterdam and a main feature for Vodafone amongst many others. Film credits include "A Kind of Hush"(Dir. Brian Stern), "Arabs in London" (Dir. Anwar Kawadri), "Troy"(Dir. Woflgang Peterson) and "Alexander" (Dir. Oliver Stone). He has appeared in the series "Petrino Potami" on PIK1 TV for Cyprus. More recently Panos performed his one man show “The Interpretation” as part of The Camden Fringe Festival and “Cypria"by Elena Pavli and he played Agamemnon for Hecuba at Theatro Technis. Panos will be doing his one man show in October.

Steve Constantine

Steve has worked extensively in the music and entertainment industry spanning over 50 years. Following his studies in accountancy, he drifted into the music industry establishing a record company, publishing and production company. He is a poet, songwriter and musician achieving number 1’s in Greece and Europe. He has a literary award for a rock opera. He has written the music for many of the productions at Theatro Technis. More recently he collaborated with his son Michael on music for various plays notably the highly popular We, Macbeth. He is a lifelong supporter and friend of TT.

Elena Hadjiafxendi

Elena Hadjiafxendi is a Greek Cypriot actress, singer and creator based in the UK. Her work is rooted in the cultural memory, literature and musical traditions of Cyprus and the wider Mediterranean, spanning music, theatre, film, television, poetry and live performance. Her practice explores the intersection of voice, text and storytelling, creating interdisciplinary work where presence and language converge. She has performed across the UK and Europe in theatre, concert and literary contexts, as well as in film and television. Elena is the founder of The Vintage Project and co-creator of Space on Stage, and the lead singer of Unicorn Frequency.

Lucy Christofi Christy

Lucy trained Rose Bruford and works in the Greek/Cypriot and English languages. Theatre includes: A View From The Bridge, Oedipus, Italian American Reconciliation, Macbeth, Yerma, Medea Redux, Hecuba, Invitation to a Beheading, Trojan Women. One women plays: Elena Pavli’s Cypria, Maria Vigar’s The Machinist, Giorgos Neophytou’s Manoli! She’s appeared in many plays directed by Sam Neofytou and George Eugeniou for Theatro Technis. Working in Cyprus she played the lead in a Greek Cypriot TV Series and appeared in feature films - Costas Dimitriou’s Road to Ithaka, Panicos Chrysanthou’s Akamas. Toured in plays for Theatro Ena and Alpha Square. Voice work includes: Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, Alexander, Munich, Mamma Mia and radio dramas for London Greek Radio. Film/TV music videos includes: The Bill, Newsnight, Bad Girls, Quanna, Fish n’ Chips, Smoking Guns, Bubbles. Award winning short films include: Laura Hypponen’s film Quadraturin, Vicki Psarias film Broken, various shorts by Karine Bedrossian, Dimitri Papazahariou’s film Leventis and recently Liam Pinheiro-Rogers new film Scelus. Recent theatre includes: touring Artun Gökşan Lurucinali and Vasili Panayi’s trilingual Greek, Turkish, English play Aphrodite’s Children. Maria Vigar’s play Love in a Foreign Land directed by Anastasia Revi. An Album of Stories directed by Marios Theoharous for the Cyprus High Commission in the UK. Aristiea in the premier of The Ophiolite by Philip de Voni, directed by Kerry Kyriacos Michael MBE. She will be performing in the late George Eugeniou's Stellas Letter on Friday 24th July.

Soulla Christodoulou

Born in London to Greek Cypriot parents, Soulla Christodoulou is an award-nominated novelist, poet and educator whose work often explores Cypriot identity, migration and diaspora connection. Her storytelling is rooted in place, memory and belonging, with a growing emphasis on adapting Cypriot narratives for film and visual media. She is the author of six novels, including The Summer Will Come and Alexander and Maria, the latter of which received a nomination for the RSL Ondaatje Prize in 2021. The Summer Will Come was selected as a book club read by Barnet Libraries during London's Year of Learning Festival in 2019, is under contract for translation into Greek, and is currently in development as a feature film, reflecting Soulla’s commitment to bringing Cyprus-centred stories to international screens. Alongside her writing, Soulla is deeply engaged in education, mentoring and creative collaboration. She was awarded the CYDIA Award for Literature at the Cyprus Diaspora Forum in May 2026 in recognition of her literary achievements. Through her work, she maintains strong links with Cypriot and diaspora communities across Cyprus, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Africa and Australia, using storytelling as a bridge between cultures, generations and creative industries.

Vasilis Panayis

Vasilis is a long-term radio presenter and broadcaster on London Greek Radio (lgr.co.uk) with a radio career spanning over twenty-five years. He is the presenter of Faces on HELLENIC TV. Cypriot born, Vasilis pursued Theatre Studies at the Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art. He also produce & directed his short film Love Above All. He is the art director of TAT – THE ACTORS THEATRE. His latest productions were the Greek plays ΦΩΝΑΖΕΙ Ο ΚΛΕΦΤΗΣ, Proxenia, Aphrodite’s wedding, & My Big Fat Greek Bed and Breakfast. He is the producer, director & writer of “My name is not Zorba, but I can dance. “ Vasilis was born in Sychari, a village in the state of Kyrinia in Cyprus, and from the age of 12 was involved in theatre productions. He studied at the Stanislavski Drama School with the great drama teacher Vlademeros Kafkarides and took part as a special talent in many performances and theatre productions like “Peace “by Aristophanes, “CAPITAN MICHALIS “by Kazantzakis, and many more. After the Turkish invasion in Cyprus, he came to London for Theatre Studies at the Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art. He took part in many TV productions such as Vote for Them, Soldier Soldier, Birds of a Feather, Boon, Sam’s Game with Davina McCall, and the TV productions Plane Spotting and Bubbles. He has been in the film Papadopoulos and Sons by Marcos Marcou. He also appeared in the short films Rifts directed by Vickie Psarias and Sleeping with the Fishes with Ewan McGregor. His voice has been heard in many TV and film productions. He has worked with George Evgeniou at Theatre Technis in various productions, especially in children’s plays. He has also produced and directed his own play Cyprus My Little Mother. Vasilis writes poetry, theatre plays, and short stories. He has been in Panos and Cascadia by Joe Barton Atkinson and Rob Jelley, playing the part of Benji in a six-part TV programme. He was in CHANNEL 4’s comedy show “STATH LETS FLATS” with JAMMIE DEMETRIOU.
