The French translation of Mike Bartlett's award winning play.
A Manager. An Employee. A meeting that should take ten minutes.
The questions start small, routine, almost procedural. About conduct. About loyalty. About what you do when nobody's watching. Then they don't stop. Because this isn't really about the company anymore. It's about a system that has quietly decided your private life is its business (your body, your beliefs, your bedroom) and found a polite, legal, perfectly reasonable way to take it.
Contractions is what happens when an HR meeting becomes an interrogation, and the interrogation becomes a verdict on what kind of person is still allowed to exist inside the institution. No raised voices. Just power, doing what power has always done, quietly, patiently, with your signature on file.
You'll leave questioning every form you've ever signed, wanting to argue about it.
About power. About what you'd be willing to give up to keep everything you have.
How far would you go to not lose everything?
This performance will be in French with English surtitles.
