MARTHA D LEWIS
“.. Lewis a woman with something to say, and a powerful way of saying it. Well worth your attention and your pocket money”. – Jazzwise

The ability of an artist to reinvent themselves and evolve is often a keynote for a long and successful career. Martha D. Lewis has such an ability.
In a career spanning over 4 decades which began as trailblazing music-comedy duo with Eve Polycarpou as ‘Donna and Kebab’ , Martha’s vast and varied musical journey since mid 1990’s took in world jazz composition, theatre music, film and documentary music and included Martha’s debut solo release of jazz-world music ‘Café Aman-Double Life’ which was awarded ‘Best Album of the Year’ by BBC Radio in 2007, with tracks featured on ‘Best Of European Jazz Compilation CD’ in 2014.
Martha presented BBC Radio documentary about Rembetika music called ‘Music of the Outsiders’. Following this, Martha sang and presented the feature film documentary ‘My Sweet Canary’ about the life and music of Roza Eskenazy, the First lady Of the Greek Blues. This
project sparked an album of Martha’s brave re-imaginings of classic urban Greek blues ‘Homage to Roza’,(2015) featuring legendary drummer Jack De Johnette.
As a dynamic entertainer, Martha D. Lewis is always looking ahead to create the next project, ensuring constant artistic progression.  ALL THAT YOU SEE (2022) - is Martha D. Lewis’s sixth and boldest album to date and marks a new dawn. An album of Indie Jazz infused deeply
personal reflections alongside social commentary songs create a dynamic new direction for Martha who gathered an ensemble of high-class musicians, producers + sound engineers for the project at Real World Studios. This included drummer Ian Matthews (Kasabian), Nick Cohen (Massive Attack, Annie Lennox) and one of the world’s most respected and innovative producers and sound engineers, Stephen W Tayler. From decades of experience of working with the greats such as Kate Bush, Phil Collins, Stevie Nicks and Peter Gabriel, Stephen W. Tayler has sprinkled stardust onto the mixes of Martha’s songs.  “.. the perfect mix of singer/songwriter and jazz.” - SmoothJazz.com
