Alfie Webster

Lenny - Work-In-Progress

Work-in-progress sharing - a very queer snapshot of going through your adolescence, but as a fully grown adult

£12.50, £10

“Carly always says the world would spin faster without men, but then she would have

to live without me.”

Lenny and Carly are best mates. Lenny is big. Carly is small. Lenny is male. Carly is everything. Lenny wants love. Carly wants control.

Lenny is a snapshot of going through your adolescence, but as a fully grown adult. Wrestling with their insides not matching their outsides, they can't quite grip onto the love that they think they want until Lenny meets Banana Boy, and Lenny has to navigate this new found relationship without hurting anyone else. Nights out go wrong and Lenny and Carly's friendship is tested to its limit as they grapple with how to break away from the toxicity of male desire, both internally and externally.

Featuring talking bananas and epic dancefloor hiccups, Lenny and Carly's story is a voice to how queer people often see the world. The joy, excitement, loneliness and frustrations of being outside of heteronormative norms, and also navigating unhelpful stereotypes within your own community.

A work-in-progress sharing
