ABOUT
To mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, this theatrical adaptation MEMOIRS OF A P.O.W. brings to life the true story of Phylactis Aristokleous, a Greek Cypriot sergeant in the British Army during WWII. Based on his never-seen-before memoirs, this monologue (inclusive of a short lecture) explores resilience, camaraderie, and survival in a prisoner-of-war camp through vivid storytelling, physicality, and drama.
Translated from Greek by Maria Iole Karolidou, and tailored for all audiences (including students), MEMOIRS OF A P.O.W. offers a poignant, age-appropriate glimpse into history, highlighting themes of courage and humanity.
The performance sparks conversations about wartime experiences and the enduring power of hope.
